St Ives
Hayle is set in the Bay of St Ives. It is only a short 7 minute drive by car or 10 minutes by bus. There is a park and ri
de option in Lelant which is a few minutes drive away. This saves on parking fees which are not cheap and also avoids having to find a parking space which are few and far between especially at busy times. It is known as one of the country's top 3 train rides. It takes in breathtaking coast views via Lelant, Carbis Bay and St Ives. The train journey is also about 10 minutes
You can walk the coastal path from Lelant into St Ives. It is a beautiful walk taking in the same views as the train
St Ives offers 3 very pretty, easily accessible beaches which have shops, cafes and toilets and other amenities nearby. The only drawback is that they can get very busy. Porthmeor is the biggest beach followed by Porthminster and finally Porthgwidden
There is a Tate Modern at Porthmeor beach which features both International Modern and Contemporary Art. There are many other galleries and potteries to see plus many good quality small shops for you to peruse. There are numerous cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants for to choose from. In the busy times we suggest you book in advance if there is a particular place you wish to eat
